- Parabens
If you see these names - Ethylparaben, butylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben, written on the label, ditch the product right away! Parabens are widely used in the cosmetic industry and thus is a very popular yet toxic chemical for the skin. It can also cause a serious effect on your baby's health as it can disrupt hormonal functions and immunity.

- Fragrance
Fragrance or products having perfume are a big no-no when it comes to choosing baby products. Babies shouldn't be exposed to strongly scented products as it could cause irritation and an allergic reaction too. Maaté’s baby products are free from any such artificial fragrances and only include the natural scents of Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, and Chamomile Oil.
- Mineral oil
Do not confuse it with natural oils like Lavender or Sunflower Oil. Mineral oil is a by-product of petroleum and is often used in baby products like moisturizers and creams.

- Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Sodium Laureth Sulfate is extensively used in body washes and shampoos as it has foam-building and lathering properties. It can strip away the natural oils from the body and could result in eye irritation, rashes, and scaly scalp.
