Ingredients to avoid while choosing products for your baby

by admin

Mothers can just not compromise with the care they give to their babies. In pursuit of finding the ideal products for their little one, they often get carried away with the fancy ingredients that companies claim to have in their products, not knowing that they could be toxic and could do more harm than good.

We, at Maaté, believe in being completely transparent with our ingredients since we truly care for the little ones’ using our products. To aware the moms out there, we have a list of ingredients that must be avoided while choosing baby products.

  1. Parabens

If you see these names - Ethylparaben, butylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben, written on the label, ditch the product right away! Parabens are widely used in the cosmetic industry and thus is a very popular yet toxic chemical for the skin. It can also cause a serious effect on your baby's health as it can disrupt hormonal functions and immunity.

We, at Maaté, make products free of parabens, thus ensuring the proper health and care of your baby.

  1. Fragrance

Fragrance or products having perfume are a big no-no when it comes to choosing baby products. Babies shouldn't be exposed to strongly scented products as it could cause irritation and an allergic reaction too. Maaté’s baby products are free from any such artificial fragrances and only include the natural scents of Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, and Chamomile Oil.

  1. Mineral oil

Do not confuse it with natural oils like Lavender or Sunflower Oil. Mineral oil is a by-product of petroleum and is often used in baby products like moisturizers and creams.

Maaté’s Baby Body Butter and Face Butter has the goodness of natural oils like Sesame, Chamomile, and Avocado Oil, which are loaded with benefits and suit the baby’s requirements.

  1. Sodium Laureth Sulfate

Sodium Laureth Sulfate is extensively used in body washes and shampoos as it has foam-building and lathering properties. It can strip away the natural oils from the body and could result in eye irritation, rashes, and scaly scalp.

Maaté’s Baby Body Wash and Baby Hair Cleanser are free from the harsh sulfates that could ruin the baby’s skin and scalp. Check it out here

  1. Artificial/Synthetic Colourants

Colors are often added to baby products to make them look appealing and attractive when in reality, they can be toxic for the skin and hair. All products at Maaté are free from any artificial and synthetic colors and are made from organic and natural ingredients.
